12 T-Birds Earn NJCAA Academic All-American Honors

The NJCAA has recognized 12 New Mexico Junior College athletes for being named to the Academic All-American Team.  There are three different Academic All-American awards, 1st team, 2nd team, and 3rd team.  To be eligible by the NJCAA for these awards one must have completed two full-time semesters, participated in at least one season, enrolled in a minimum of 24 semester-hours and have a minimum GPA of 3.6 on a 4.00 scale.  Below are the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team NJCAA Academic All-Americans

            NJCAA Academic All-American First Team: 4.00 GPA on a 4.00 scale

  • Preston Ewing (Men's Golf)

  • Michael Garcia (Men's Golf)

  • Cassidy Reddell (Women's Cross-Country / Track)

  • Shira Reece (Women's Cross-Country / Track)

  • Ben Tucker (Men's Golf)

    NJCAA Academic All-American Second Team: 3.80 to 3.99 on a 4.00 scale

  • Shaneika Bowra (Women's Track)

  • Laurynn McGowen (Women's Basketball)

    NJCAA Academic All-American Third Team: 3.60 to 3.79 GPA on a 4.00 scale

  • Henrik Chukwuka (Men's Basketball)

  • Sentreal Gregory (Women's Basketball)

  • Gavin Johnson (Baseball)

  • Cynthia Kipserem (Women's Cross-Country / Track)

  • Adrian Pinedo (Baseball)
