NMJC’s Burr Wins 1ST Go Round in Saddle Bronc

The 69th CNFR started this past Sunday, June 11 in Casper Wyoming with a matinee and evening performances of "Bulls, Broncs, and Breakaway". Preston Burr riding in his second CNFR of his college career, scored 78.5 points on Frontier Rodeo's Short Cake saddle bronc horse.

It took a few seconds after his ride to get his score, because he didn't mark his horse out, but the judges discussed the ride and determined the bronc caused his leg to hit the gate, so he was not penalized and received a score. He will continue his quest, when he gets on his second bronc, this coming Tuesday morning during slack, Go round 2, 4th section of saddle bronc riding. He has a good start in chasing the CNFR Saddle Bronc Championship Title for 2017.
