Six Thunderbirds Chosen to Play in TX/NM All-Star Games
The top baseball talent from 40 two-year colleges faced-off in the Texas/New Mexico JUCO All-Star Weekend, September 22nd and 23rd , hosted at Weatherford College. Coaches from four conferences of the National Junior College Athletic Association chose their top players to compete.
Six NMJC Thunderbirds were chosen by head coach Jimmy Durham: Jake Dickerson, outfielder, who was honorable mention all-conference in 2017; Colton Buckner, first baseman and designated hitter; Chris Jefferson, pitcher; Anthony Montoya, pitcher; Ryan Rijo, first baseman and all-region player; and Chase Whetsel, outfielder, who has moved on to Lamar University.
