Tbirds dominate Odessa; Sweep series

GAME 3
The NMJC Thunderbirds jumped out to an early lead on Odessa College and captured a 14-0 victory on Saturday at NMJC in five innings.
With 10 runs in the first three innings, NMJC Thunderbirds left no doubt about the eventual outcome.
An RBI single byAnge De Jesus, a three-run home run by Luis Pintor, an RBI single by Jeff Deimling, a groundout by Zac Sanders, and an RBI double by Matt Martin in the second inning helped NMJC Thunderbirds put some runs on the board early.
NMJC Thunderbirds hit four home runs in the win. Additional home runs for NMJC Thunderbirds came when Deimling homered in the third inning, De Jesus homered in the fourth inning, and Kody Russell homered in the fourth inning.
Deimling racked up three RBIs on four hits for NMJC Thunderbirds.
Blake Walden recorded his 10th win for NMJC Thunderbirds to remain perfect on the season. He pitched five shutout innings. Walden struck out three, walked two and gave up one hit.
NMJC Thunderbirds added three more runs in the bottom of the third when Larry Leitha started the inning with a triple, plating Pintor.
NMJC Thunderbirds tacked on another four runs in the fourth. The inning looked promising, as Russell homered, scoring Daniel Herrera to kick things off. That was followed up by De Jesus'solo blast.
The Thunderbirds easily handled Odessa College pitching as six hitters combined for 13 hits, 12 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
GAME 4
NMJC Thunderbirds jumped out to an early lead on Odessa College and captured a 19-5 victory to win game four and sweep the series with Odessa.
Fifteen runs in the first three innings allowed NMJC Thunderbirds to put the game away early.
A bases loaded walk by Odessa hurler, Ruben Renteria, a home run by Jesse Becton, a three-run triple by Luis Pintor, and a sacrifice fly by Travon Benton during the first inning and a wild pitch and a three-run home run by Pintor in the second inning supplied the early offense for NMJC.
Pintor racked up six RBIs on two hits for the Thunderbirds.
Victor Persad got the win for NMJC Thunderbirds despite allowing five runs over 2 1/3 innings. He struck out none, walked two and surrendered six hits.
Renteria couldn't get it done on the mound for Odessa College, taking a loss. He allowed nine runs in one-third of an inning, walked four and struck out one.
Odessa College jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first.
NMJC Thunderbirds survived Odessa College's surge and put up four runs of its own in the second.
It didn't take long for NMJC Thunderbirds to respond as it scored two runs of its own in the third. The Thunderbirds scored on a wild pitch and a groundout by Kody Russell.
NMJC tacked on another four runs in the fourth. The inning got off to a hot start when Benton doubled, scoring Pintor. That was followed up by Jeff Deimling's double, plating Benton and Larry Leitha.
NMJC will be home to wrap up the season with a four game set with Luna beginning on Friday, May 6th.
