T-Birds Win All Four Against Clarendon College
- Game 1:
- Luis Gonzalez was clutch at the plate on Friday, driving in six on three hits to lead NMJC past Clarendon College 19-4 on Friday. Gonzalez drove in runs on a home run in the first, a double in the second, and a double in the fourth.
- An early lead helped propel the T-Birds to victory. The T-Birds scored on a home run by Gonzalez, a home run by Jesse Herrera III, and a triple by Camden Melvin in the first inning.
- After Clarendon College scored one run in the top of the third, NMJC answered with one of their own. Clarendon College scored when #2 hit a solo homer. NNMJC then answered when Lorenzo Morresi's sac fly scored one run for the T-Birds.
- The T-Birds notched 12 runs in the fourth inning. Herrera III, Melvin, JD Moreno, Christian Hoffman, Aaron Lugo, and Stanley Tucker each had RBIs in the frame.
- Paul Coppinger took the win for NMJC. The righty allowed four hits and three runs over four and a third innings, striking out eight and walking zero. Zach Boyer threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
- The T-Birds launched two home runs on Friday. Herrera III went yard in the first inning. Gonzalez went for the long ball in the first inning.
- NMJC totaled 14 hits. Melvin and Gonzalez each managed three hits to lead the T-Birds. NMJC didn't commit a single error in the field. Gonzalez had ten chances in the field, the most on the team.
- Game 2:
- NMJC stole the lead late in the game in an 18-9 victory over Clarendon College on Friday. The game was tied at nine with the T-Birds batting in the bottom of the seventh when Aaron Lugo homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs.
- Lugo collected four hits in five at bats to help lead NMJC to victory. Lugo doubled in the third, singled in the sixth, homered in the seventh, and doubled in the eighth.
- Clarendon College got things moving in the first inning. Clarendon College scored four runs when #28 homered.
- After Clarendon College scored three runs in the top of the sixth, the T-Birds answered with three of their own. Clarendon College scored when #29 hit a solo homer and #10 homered on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs. NMJC then answered when Lorenzo Morresi singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.
- Jesus Tovar pitched the T-Birds to victory. The southpaw lasted one and two-thirds innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while striking out two and walking one. EJ Miramontes and Max Swenson entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
- #20 was on the mound for Clarendon College. The hurler went four innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out six. #14 and #12 entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two and a third innings and one inning respectively.
- Fernando Gonzalez started the game for the T-Birds. Gonzalez went one inning, allowing four runs on two hits and striking out one.
- NMJC hit two home runs game two. Lugo went for the long ball in the seventh inning. Rafael Gross had a dinger in the fourth inning.
- the T-Birds saw the ball well, racking up 19 hits in the game. Lugo, Morresi, Christian Hoffman, Luis Gonzalez, Stanley Tucker, and Camden Melvin each collected multiple hits. Lugo led with four hits in five at bats. Morresi had the most chances in the field with 11.
- Game 3:
- Stanley Tucker was in the zone on Saturday, tallying four hits and leading NMJC to a 17-6 win over Clarendon College. Tucker homered in the first, singled in the third and singled in the fifth.
- Both offenses were strong at the plate as NMJC collected 16 hits and Clarendon College nine in the high-scoring affair
- The T-Birds fired up the offense in the first inning. Tucker hit a solo homer.
- NMJC pulled away for good with seven runs in the third inning. In the third, Luis Gonzalez singled on a 0-1 count scoring one run. Kade Benavidez drew a walk, scoring one run, Camden Melvin singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Christian Hoffman homered on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs, and Tucker singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
- The T-Birds notched seven runs in the sixth inning. The offensive onslaught by NMJC was led by Benavidez, Justin Martinez, and Aaron Lugo, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
- Clarendon College scored three runs in the second inning. #2 and #1 each drove in runs during the inning.
- Josh Akers earned the win for NMJC. The lefthander surrendered five runs on seven hits over five innings, striking out seven and walking one. Robert Bonilla threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
- Scott was on the mound for Clarendon College. The pitcher lasted three innings, allowing ten hits and nine runs while striking out five. #19 and #51 entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one-third of an inning respectively.
- NMJC totaled 16 hits. Tucker, Benavidez, Melvin, Hoffman, and Lugo all collected multiple hits for the T-Birds. Tucker went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead NMJC in hits.
Game 4:
- Aaron Lugo came to ballpark and meant business on Saturday, tallying four hits and leading the T-Birds to a 19-11 win over Clarendon College. Lugo singled in the first, homered in the fifth, singled in the sixth, and singled in the eighth.
- Bats blistered as NMJC collected 16 hits and Clarendon College tallied 14 in the high-scoring game.
- The T-Birds took an early lead in the second inning. Stanley Tucker homered on a 2-2 count, scoring four runs.
- NMJC took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Lorenzo Morresi singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run and Ryan Ruff homered on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.
- T-Birds notched five runs in the second inning, their big bats in the inning were led by a home run by Tucker and a fielder's choice by Ruff.
- Kade Benavidez was the winning pitcher for NMJC. Benavidez went three and two-thirds innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out five. Max Swenson and Gabriel Torres entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
- Gerardo Grijalva started the game for the T-Birds. The righthander surrendered six runs on six hits over two and a third innings, striking out four and walking one.
- The T-Birds hit five home runs. Tucker went yard in the second inning. Lugo had a long ball in the fifth inning. Camden Melvin had a four bagger in the eighth inning. Ruff went deep in the third inning. Christian Hoffman went for the long ball in the fourth inning.
