The T-Bird Rodeo Team travelled to Odessa, TX this past weekend to compete in their 6th Southwest Region rodeo which was hosted by the Odessa College Wranglers. Both Men's and Women's teams had athletes qualified for the top 10 short round on Saturday Night.
For the T-Bird women, it was sophomore Jesse Valdez who lead the team by winning 3rd in the first round of the goat tying. She had a little bit of tough luck in the short round, leaving Odessa with a 9th place in the short round and 9th place in the average finish.
On the men's side, sophomore Tee McLeod and freshman Payson Crouch tied each other in the first round of the team roping with their respective partners. Both heelers had 6.7 second runs to place them tied for 5/6/7 in the round. Both teams had no times in the short round which dropped them out of the average race.
In the bull riding, it was freshman Quintin Wimberley who was 7th in the long round followed by a no score in the short round for a 7th place finish.
T-Birds have 4 weeks to get ready for their next rodeo in Sweetwater, TX March 21-23.
