Kyleigh McGowen was the top individual for the T-Birds in Durango this week. The sophomore's 14-over finish was the third best score shot by an NMJC athlete at the tournament. Freshman Stefany Crozier tied for 13th place shooting 78-84 to finish at 18-over par. Sophomore Ashleigh Johnson had to navigate a wrist injury that hampered her play this week. Johnson was 31-over par with rounds of 87-88 as she ended the tournament in 31st place.
Surprising but true! The T-Birds had a certain commonality in Durango with four members shooting 78 in the opening round.
The Thunderbirds take two weeks off before they head down the road to Odessa, Texas for the Wrangler Invitational Oct. 31- Nov. 1.
