Lady T-Birds qualify two more for nationals
NMJC set to compete in Lubbock on Thursday
CANYON, Texas — The New Mexico Junior College women's track and field team qualified two more for the NJCAA nationals at the West Texas A&M Open Twilight on Saturday.
NMJC's Tiffany Garcia qualified for nationals in the 200-meter run with a time of 24.10 seconds while teammate Naomi Tanui qualified in the 5,000 with a time of 19:14.91.
Improving their national qualifying times for NMJC was Quadaisha Newkirk in the 400 (55.59) and Purity Murray in the 5,000 (18:47.91).
NMJC competes at the Red Raider Open on Thursday in Lubbock.
