The Thunderbird volleyball team closed the 2025 season in Roswell, NM with a three-set loss to New Mexico Military Institute.
NMJC fell in straight sets 25-15, 25-14, and 25-18 on Saturday, Nov. 1.
Outside hitter Leticia Neves led the T-Birds offensively with eight kills and eight digs. Libero Lauren Shiplet finished the afternoon with 17 digs.
Setter Noemi Marinho registered 14 assists, and Ava Kincaid added 7 digs.
Sophomore Duda Tonella added 4 blocks in her final match in a Thunderbird uniform. The sophomore set the school record for most career blocks with 233. The previous record was 175 set by Karielys Maldonado in 2022-24.
Tonella also broke Nickilah Whatley's single-season record (2023-24) by one block with 129 overall this year.
The Thunderbirds finish the season 14-16 (5-9).
