Hobbs, NEW MEXICO (November 5, 2015)
The New Mexico Junior College Men's Basketball team evened their conference record at 1-1 with a 77-60 win over the visiting Western Texas Westerners on Saturday.
Randy Haynes scored a game high 18 points and collected a team high eight rebounds to lead the Thunderbirds. Tyler Blount and Emmanuel Ansah chipped in 11 and 10 points respectively, while Devin Wyatt led the defensive effort with six blocks to go along with six rebounds and five points.
The Thunderbirds forced 14 Westerner turnovers with 11 of them coming by way of the steal. Haynes had a game high three followed by Blount, Jalin Hart and Xabier Gomez each with two.
The Thunderbirds are now 10-4, 1-1, and will travel to Collin County on Sautrday to face the 6-7 Cougars.
