NMJC (MBB) Earns NABC Team Award

The T-Bird men's basketball team picked up the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Team Academic Excellence Award for the 2025-26 season.

NMJC has earned the recognition for the fourth straight year and has accumulated 10 straight semesters of 3.0 or higher team GPAs. The Thunderbird squad featured 13 student-athletes over a 3.0. 

The NABC Team Academic Excellence Award recognizes programs that completed the 2025-26 academic year with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The T-Birds finished the year with a 3.50 GPA.

NMJC men's basketball will begin the 2026-27 season at the Otero Classic Oct. 30 in La Junta, CO.
