The NMJC Women's Basketball team downed Cochise CC in their final game of the Desert Classic 80-52 on Saturday.
Daiane Machado turned in another solid performance offensively as she scored a game high 21 points to go along with four rebounds. Alana da Silva chipped in 10 points for the Thunderbirds and had a team high three steals.
The Thunderbirds created 17 Cochise CC turnovers and 15 steals. They collected 35 rebounds with 13 of them coming on the offensive glass. Camille Mills lead the Thunderbirds in rebounding with six from her guard position. She also added nine points and was perfect from the field going 4-4.
The Thunderbids will head to Snyder, TX for the Western Texas College Classic, next weekend beginning on Thursday for three games over the weekend, as they will play Temple College, Southwest Texas Junior College, and Dallas Diesel.
