Efficient offense leads NMJC past Temple College
Snyder, TEXAS (November 19, 2015)
On Thursday, the New Mexico Junior College Women's Basketball team reached the halfway point of their 12 game road trip as they upended Temple College 64-37 at the Western Texas College Classic.
Offensively, NMJC was efficient as they assisted on 21 of 28 made field goals. Leading the way offensively was Blair Richmond as she scored a game high 12 points on 4-for-7 shooting from three and led three Thunderbirds in double digit scoring. Daiane Machado picked up another double-double as she scored 10 points and 10 rebounds. Camille Mills and Nycolle Smith just missed double-doubles of their own as Mills scored 11 points to go along with eight caroms and Smith scored eight points to go along with 10 rebounds, nine of which came on the offensive end of the floor.
The Thunderbirds gathered 52 rebounds during the game. Most impressively was that 30 of those rebounds came on the offensive glass.
Next up for the Thunderbirds is Southwest Texas Community College on Friday.
