The road has been kind to the New Mexico Junior College Thunderbirds and Tuesday night, was no different as the defeated the Weatherford College Coyotes 73-36.
Dezirae Hampton led the Thunderbirds in scoring with 10 points as she was perfect from downtown connecting on both of her long range attempts and was perfect from the floor.
Nycolle Smith added eight points, seven rebounds and a team high five steals. As a team, the Thunderbirds came up with 22 steals led by Smith. Shaniya Mitchell added four thefts while Camille Mills and Hampton each added three.
Mitchell led the team in rebounding with nine and turned in a team high three assists.
The Thunderbirds will head back to Arizona on Thanksgiving day. On Friday, the will play Pima Community College in the Eastern Arizona Thanksgiving Classic before turning their attention to tournament host Eastern Arizona on Saturday.
