Precious Cowan Named Region V Women's Basketball Player of the Week

Region V has announced the Women's Basketball Players of the Week for the week of November 21-27.

The Western Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Week is Precious Cowan of New Mexico Junior College.

The 5-7 point guard from Hobbs, NM had 16 points, 6 assists and 4 rebounds in a win at #10 ranked Iowa Western. The following night she had 24 points including 19 second-half points with 5 steals and 4 rebounds in a win over Mineral Area.

The Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Co-Players of the Week are Brielle Dorsey of McLennan Community College and Nikki Green of Collin College.

Dorsey, a 6-1 sophomore forward from Killeen, TX recorded a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Cedar Valley.

Green, a 5-6 guard from Richardson, TX averaged 14.5 points in wins over No. 8 Tyler and No. 22 Kilgore. She went 14 of 16 from the free-throw line.
