NMJC Wins Final Home Game of the Year

The T-Birds played thier final home game of the year this morning against the Cochise College Apaches in Caster Activity Center.
The T-Birds came out strong scoring 17 points against the Apache's 13 points in the first quarter. The only lead held by the Apache's was by one point, six minutes into the first quarter.
That lead ended quickly after the T-Birds landed a couple 3 pointers made by sophomores Cabria Lewis and Jada Miller. The T-Birds went into halftime ahead of the Apaches 37-26.
T-Birds continued to play strong quarters after halftime scoring 16 points in the third and 14 in the fourth. They maintained their lead on the Apaches throughout the second half with their largest lead of 22 points with 5 minutes left in the game. The T-Birds ended the game with their second win of the week and a final score of 67-55.
Top scorer for the T-Birds was Jada Miller with 18 points, 2 steals, and 4 rebounds. Other T-Birds scoring double digits were sophomore Mariama Sow with 11 points and Cabria Lewis with 10 points.
Next up for the T-Birds is Harden Simmons University in Abilene, TX at 1PM MST on Decmeber 31st. Their next home game will be after the new year against Western Texas College on January 8th at 2PM MST in Caster Activity Center.
