T-Birds Beat the Frank Phillips College Plainsmen by 29

The T-Birds faced the Frank Phillips College Plainsmen on Thursday night for another home conference game in Caster Activity Center.
The T-Birds had a great first half as they had a 13-0 lead on the Plainsmen within the first 5 minutes of the first quarter. After a few 3-pointers made by sophomore Jada Miller and several layups from the T-Birds, the Plainsmen finished the half trailing the T-Birds 41-15.
The Plainsmen attempted to shorten the lead in the second half, but the T-Birds continued to sink in their shots. The T-Birds scored another 20 points in the third quarter while the Plainsmen scored 12, ending the quarter 30 points behind the T-Birds 61-29. The Plainsmen did outscore the T-Birds in the final quarter scoring 12 points compared to the T-Birds 9. That was not enough to catch up to the T-Birds as they ended the game in a 29 point lead with a final score of 70-41.
Top scorer for the T-Birds was Jada Miller with 16 points followed by freshman Danna Grenald with 9 points.Freshman Bianca Juzzo put up 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 5 steals. Sophomores Precious Cowan, Cabria Lewis, Madina Camara, and Mariana Sow contributed 6 points each. After the win against the Plainsmen the T-Birds are now 4-2 in conference play and 17-3 overall. The T-Birds will go on to play Clarendon College on Monday, January 24th, at 5:45PM MST for another home game in Caster Activity Center.
