NMJC (WBB) Finishes Holiday Break 3-0
The No. 10 Thunderbirds ended their Thanksgiving Holiday travel with an 82-69 win over Central Wyoming College.
NMJC led at the half 45-31 and cruised in the second half to win by 13 points.
Sophomore Zarai Lewis had a monster game for the Thunderbirds scoring a career-high 18 points on 3-of-4 shooting from beyond the arc. Freshman guard Luisa Amaral also set a career high in points with 19. Jada Graves finished with 12 points, a career-high 11 assists, and six rebounds.
Rekiah Bowen led NMJC off the bench with 11 points and eight rebounds. Forward Azaleeah Oloapu chipped in nine points and six rebounds.
The T-Birds shot 26-for-61 (42.6%) from the field, 9-of-23 (39.1%) from the 3-point line, and 21-of-22 (95.5%) from the stripe. NMJC forced 17 turnovers and held the Rustlers to 42.6% from the field.
The Thunderbirds end their Thanksgiving break 3-0 after defeating Northeastern JC, Laramie County, and Central Wyoming.
The No. 10 Thunderbirds move to 10-1 on the year and will face Northeastern Junior College in Hobbs, NM Friday, Dec. 12 at 9:30 a.m. MST.
