The No. 10 Thunderbirds handed McCook their ninth loss of the year with a 74-46 win on Saturday, Dec. 13.
The Thunderbirds got off to a strong start in the first quarter as they led 16-1 following the first 5:30 of action. The Indians cut the lead to eight points at the end of the quarter, 17-9.
Jada Graves scored eight of her 19 points in the second quarter with the T-Birds outscoring McCook 22-8 in the frame to take a 39-17 lead into the break.
NMJC expanded their lead in the second half ultimately winning by 28 points over the Indians.
Kaycee Steinke was the only other Thunderbird in double figures with 11 points. Zarai Lewis finished up with eight points and seven rebounds.
Forward Bright Eze grabbed seven boards. Indigo Bell finished the afternoon with nine points.
The No. 10 Thunderbirds move to 12-1 on the year and will face Ranger College in Hobbs, NM Sunday, Dec. 14 at 1 p.m. MST.
